Dear Potential client,
Please use common sense when purchasing a kitten on the internet.  You can go to some sites and see fabulous photography, there the kittens will be thousands of dollars.  You are paying for the pretty pictures,  look for an accurate description and pedigree information.  Don't be fooled into thinking a kitten is worth an exaggerated price JUST because the breeder has a prettier background. Registered breeds have names, and papers, kittens are only mixed breeds if the parents aren't registered, there is no such "breed" as a rugrunner or Itty Bitty Kitty. On the other hand, make sure to look in the background of pictures, if you see a dirty house, go to the next site ...

This saying, "Raised Underfoot" is probably the second most abused slogan in all of the cat world,  right after Backyard Breeder.   Kittens that are allowed to run loose, without confinement of some sort, do not learn proper toilet habits, is that what you want when you bring a new kitten home, one that doesn't know how to use the potty box?  Any number of horrible accidents can occur: they can get stepped on, eaten by the dog, strangled by a young child, smashed by the rocking chair, you get the point, right?  Queens with kittens WANT and NEED confinement of some sort.  Cat choose dark places to have and raise their kittens for natural reasons, they want to have a secure place.  Does this mean never letting the kittens out to play, of course not.   Cages are a necessary element of properly segregating mothers and kittens, not to mention the cleanliness issue and health issues.  Kittens without full immunity needs to be prevented from socializing with older cats.

This saying, is always viewed with a derogatory undertone.  There are many good breeders called BYB (Backyard Breeders).  These BYBs usually have lower prices and often times wonderful kittens.  However, the big difference is, usually, education about the breed, including but not limited to breeding a mutation cat, which is challenging, and the camaraderie of other breeders.   If you are looking for a cat with show numbers or to breed, generally speaking, you should find a breeder that does show their cats.  You can find a list of show cats HERE, then do a search for the cattery name. Many, but again, not all, BYB do not have papers on the breeding cats and may have no idea about the mom or dad's genetic information, they just want to have a litter or two, for fun.  Cat breeding, especially a mutation breed, such as Munchkins is not always easy.  Ask the breeder, if you care about your breed, and are proud of your cats, why don't you show?  There are some legitimate answers.
